"In 1989, AMA Life Members Mike and Margaret Wilson commissioned a special work of art for the museum. The resulting 6 foot [three-quarter life-size sculpture], crafted by California artist Steve Posson, depicts former motorcycle racer and AMA race official Jim Davis on a 1919 Indian board tracker. Upon its completion in early 1990, the statue, entitled "The Glory Days," was exhibited during a six-month nationwide tour which generated a tremendous amount of support for the museum project. The statue then was put on display in the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, adjacent to the AMA offices. The sculpture is the inspiration for the Museum logo."This pewter "Glory Days" statue is a replica of the large "Glory Days" statue that is displayed in the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Pickerington, Ohio, but this one is sized to fit your desk. Made of pewter on a walnut base, it measures 5.5 inches long.
