1976 Fender Stratocaster - Vintage

Another interesting old survivor. Vintage ’76 Strat with rosewood neck.
She’s beautiful with original finish mostly intact! But If you’re looking for a collectors grade 70s strat, this one’s probably not for you.
Other ‘76 Strats are listing/Selling for 00-3000. This one’s priced a little lower to account for its issues.
It looks like it might have had a different type of bridge installed at some point. This was removed leaving holes and some marred surface that has been sanded down and filled since. There are a couple other filled holes between the output jack and pickguard as well. None of it’s terribly noticeable. There are other scratches and some cool looking 70s finish checks but all in all, the body and neck finish are in AMAZINGLY good shape!
The neck is straight with light relief. The truss is loosened. Frets show wear but still ring well up the neck with pretty comfy low action.
Under the pickguard is where we really start seeing some trouble. Somebody decided to take a drill press to her in what I can only guess could be an attempt at weight relief. They knocked out most of what’s under there. It ain’t pretty but luckily you can’t see it unless you peek.
So instead of what was probably a 8.5-9lb guitar, she weighs in at a modest middle weight 7.9lbs.
The pickguard and knobs look newer. Electronics look mostly orig including neck and bridge pickups. Middle one was replaced.
All in all, this is a great looking old strat and plays better than I thought she would.
Includes trem bar and older Fender hard case. One replaced latch. Missing middle latch. Still a solid old case. Non smoking homes
