    ITEM DESCRIPTION:: ---- Marked made in USA.... would guess the item dates to the 1950's to the 1960's....item is approx. 8" long...maximum opening is approx. 1"...former owners initials marked on item at two places...item shows some signs of usage and some discoloration at places...This tool  will still function and opens and closes  okay.....At first I thought the handle was severely discolored, but it appears to be some sort of applied black finish.....
