Vintage Maddux California Pottery Flamingo pond pool pink green

We found this Maddux California Pottery piece tucked away for years in our Aunt Mackie's meticulous smoke-free home. This piece by Maddux was originally, we believe, a pool for the flamingo pieces to "wade" while on display during the 1940s-50s. We found this interesting piece about Mr. Maddox:
HISTORY. William Maddux was born May 1, 1917 in Vallejo, California. He
founded Maddux of California in the late 1930's
, which became one of the most prolific of the TV lamp manufacturers; however, they also produced novelty items such as figurines, planters, and tableware/accessories.
We found two small chips (one we nearly missed) which can be turned to conceal however you may use this piece. The bottom is marked with Maddux, California and more.  The piece measures 13" X 5 3/4" X 2" +/-.  If you are not looking for this as a pool for wading flamingos, it could be used in many other ways.
