Description
Westbury was one of many brands of guitar manufactured at the famed Matsumoku factory in Japan. The Performer is a lower-end model but don't be fooled - this is one of the best playing and sounding guitars I've ever played and punches way above its weight. It's got a set neck, a vintage Dimarzio in the bridge and some sort of PAF in the neck, probably an in-house thing.I've priced it a bit lower than others on here for a couple reasons.
- The biggest is probably that at some point, an additional hole was drilled out in the body. Currently there's a paddle-style toggle switch there but it isn't wired in at all.
- The strap button was moved from the back of the neck joint to the upper horn. I like it it better there but you can still see a small hole on the back of the neck.
- The pickups are original but the rest of the electronics are not. For some reason there's still a little bit of signal when the volume knob is all the way down, but otherwise fully functional.
- The backplate is missing
- A couple of tiny nicks
This guitar is ready to go! It's set up beautifully, and plays like a dream. If I didn't have my eye on something really, really special I wouldn't dream of selling it.
