    Description

As a eBay seller specializing primarily in records and music memorabilia, I never expected to be listing an item for auction that combined
    Southern Blues
    and
    Whaling
with a country of manufacture listing of
SOUTH GEORGIA and the SOUTH SANDWICH ISLANDS
    .
It is an eight page do-it-yourself style paper titled:
DEEP SOUTH DOODLINGS : Number Three - October 1958 / A COLLECTION OF BLUES SINGERS BEARING AMUSING NAMES.
It is followed by a whale image and the credits:
Collated by WM. B. ROBERTS : Leith Harbour, SOUTH GEORGIA.
It was from the estate of a well-known blues collector who had a great eye for the unique and unusual which this certainly can be considered.  It is possibly one-of-a-kind.  Leith Harbour was a whaling station on the remote South Atlantic Ocean outpost of South Georgia Island off the coast of Antarctica. I was fortunate to locate and exchange messages with folks at the Friends Of South Georgia Island, South Georgia Museum, South Georgia Heritage Trust and Oceanwide Expeditions.  It was felt this was probably the work of whaler based for the season at the whaling station with some interest and knowledge of American Blues 78's.
The scans are the front and back pages with one sample page of the content.  The pages are printed on a pulp style paper measuring 8 x 11 inches.
Condition is a little rough with wear, creases, edge fraying, stains and what looks like remains of water damage on the bottom quarter.  However, it is complete and all together with no missing pages or printed parts of pages.
